Individually Phil weaver was first back for the club with a shiny PB, 1st in his age category and 3rd place overall. Phil was followed by Andrew Thompson, Derrick Carpetner, Phil Prowse, Dean Edwards, Joanne Thomas (First lady back for the club), Tracey Collins, Jane Martin, Jason Green, Kate Carpenter, Kelly Holroyd, Tracey Gil (PB), Fearne Carpenter, Sally Sharpe, Claire Harness, Adam Le’gate (pacing 60 mins), Annabelle Bradley, Elaine Mitchell, Tracey Edwards, Abby Armitage and Rob Goddard. From Mallards to deers, over at Brocklesby Estate Wild Deer hosted the inaugural 5km 10km and half trail runs. It was another good turnout from club including its smallest and youngest member Totty. Earlier in the weekend Amy Mitchell successfully tackled a 16 miler called the seagrave challenge and was rewarded with a crumble, mug and a certificate. It is described as a cross-country run over varied terrain through the beautiful Leicestershire Wolds countryside using footpaths and sections of private land.
Later that evening Amy Mitchell was back in action with Kirsty Bolton and Jess Gilbert to run the Rutland 10km Night run, the head torches and high vis were in force for the event in dark at Rutland waters.
This week has had theme of impressive turnouts with Wednesday track attracting a record 30 runners and Boston Park Run welcoming a big SADRC contingent including Emmajean Hearn in a fantastic Poppy costume ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
