Sunday 15th March
Despite the threat of Coronavirus cancelling many upcoming races, this weekend’s went ahead as planned.
Saturday saw the Nottinghamshire Epic Trail 10km that was postponed from February due to storm Dennis. Two runners took part from the club, Emily Decelles, who earned herself a fab new PB, finishing in under an hour in 57mins and Becca Grice, who is returning from injury, walked the route offering her usual enthusiastic support to her fellow runners, finishing in 1.48.37.
On Sunday there was the Sleaford Half Marathon and the Oundle 20.
Taking on the Sleaford half, a fast, flat course through pretty Lincolnshire villages around Sleaford were three club runners. First back for the club was Jason Green in 1.46.05, followed by Elaine Mitchell 2.16.52 and Emily Decelles 2.39.06.
Meanwhile, in Oundle was the scenic 20 mile race around the gently undulating country lanes in and around the pretty villages of Norhamptonshire. This race is usually a great training run for the Spring marathons, most of which have been cancelled, but the runners still took part and put their best foot forwards.
First back for the club in a fantastic 2.09.51 was Mark Sands, followed by Chris Hurst 3.04.57. First female back for the club and bagging an impressive 10min PB was Emmajean Hearn 3.15.08, closely followed by her husband Jimmy Hearn who also got an 8 minute PB finishing in 3.17.27.
Other finishers for the club were Lee Cook (3.23.47), Charlotte Armsby (3.33.57), Steph Scott (3.45.38) and Dawn Cawston (3.46.24). Fantastic running everyone.
