It was a quieter week this week; just two members of Skegness and District were out racing, heading both North & South of the County.

Firstly Angela Thompson took part in her favourite Half Marathon “The Brass Monkey” race which takes part in York. This annual race sells out quickly due to its massive popularity, but due to running it at least four times before Angela managed to get her place.

She was close to her PB time today with a Finish Time of 1:35:47, and was 6th in her age category overall.

Our newest member Andrew Thompson, who only picked up his Skegness vest yesterday, took part in a 10K in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire today. He was hoping to break the 40 minute mark on this predominantly Trail course. Time will tell whether he achieved this, but initial reports are of a muddy course under foot. We hope you enjoyed your first time out in the Black and Orange Andrew, and look forward to hearing all about it soon.

Aside from the “Thompson Twins”, Skegness and District held a Social run for its members today, with around 20 members heading over to run the Spa Trail from Horncastle towards Woodhall Spa. Members ran a variety of distances to suit their pace and training schedules, and joined up again afterwards for coffee & cake and a good catch up in a local café.

Skegness and District Running Club continues to be a fully inclusive club, offering dedicated training to runners of all abilities. We have training nights throughout the week in Skegness, Boston, Spilsby & Horncastle. See our Website for further details.
