Sunday 17th November 2019

The famous and much fun Rutland Night 10km run was this weekend with a few members taking part. Anna Watson ran the 10km on her birthday in a time of 1:04:34, a fantastic way to celebrate! Anna is also coming back from a long term injury, so was excellent to see her running this race with Carol Harrison and Robin Harrison who also ran the course crossing the line together in 1:11:17. The 10km spans over 2 days, so double the chance of running. On the Friday the couples ran it with Tracey and Dean Edwards (1:11:34/54:30) and Karen and Rob Barton (1:11:05). Great running from everyone, and such a great event.

Long Sutton 10km came around this year with slightly better weather than last week! Joyce Baumber ran a fantastic race earning herself a PB by 7 minutes! This is down to all the hard work she has been putting in within the last few months, improving all the time! Well Done Joyce, a PB time of 1:02:44. Ash Brown, one of our club London Marathon place winners also crossed the line with a PB, with a time of 40:25, excellent running. Jason Green wore the SARDC for the first time today, and earned a great time of 51 minutes for the 10km! Sanjiv Jain ran the Autumn Long Sutton 10km aswell, but I bet it didn’t feel much like autumnal weather! Well Done to all four of you!

Julie Goodwin traveled to Cambridgshire for the St Neots Half Marathon. The course is renowned as potential for PB’s as its three mile earned a great shiny new PB finishing in 2:01:37. Julie has ran 9 half marathons this year with her 10th next weekend at Silverstone!

On Sunday, the 3rd instalment of the Lincs League XC was upon us with the route taking us to the beautiful grounds of Belton Woods. A fantastic turn out of Orange and Black vests, which is great to see! XC is a different type of running, but so much fun! We have one more left, on the 8th December with the venue TBA…keep an eye on it, and get yourself there!!

This was a special run today for a certain SADRC member. Luke Haynes sweet 16th was celebrated in the park today! Everyone at SADRC wishes you the most amazing birthday wishes and happy celebrations! Luke competed in the U17 6.6km category, and as ever, ran with true birthday spirit and style.

For the ladies, the course was 6.6km with great results all round. Emmajean Hearn (36:46) Louise Darrington (44:13) Katy Cridland (45:23) Natasha Haynes (45:16) and Helena Shelton (46:20) Magdalena Moody and Jenna Mullenger.

The mens course was slightly longer at 9.7km. Lee Cook (47:16) Mark Haynes (45:02) Ed Crawford (38:58) Brian Darrington (39:47) Mark Sands (37:13) Mark Lyon (38:59) Nathan Mullenger, Jimmy Hearn, Martin Beagley, Chris Sweeny and Maurice Tompkins (1:20:00).

The SADRC beginner’s course in Skegness is still in full swing with improvements each week! To mix it up throughout the course, we like to do different exercises. This week the beginners did a “flying 30” session which builds on stamina and strength. Excellent results and turn out. Week 5 next week, Good Luck!
