Finally, a news report! Our last race was back in October, and the Thorsbey 10km. It seemed only fitting to go back to where it ended, Longhorn, the same race, only backwards!
There were marshals, disposable toilet stations, sanitise stations, a start and finish line, cups of water...people! IT WAS FANTASTIC!
A club event after over 6 months and it was wonderful to be back together.
We had runners taking part in all races...10km, Caine 10km, Half Marathons and Ultra 50km. Huge shout out to Mikey Booth, Roenel Kenyon and Sally Sharpe making their debut for the club running the 10km. It was a tough course in the sunshine, and would definitely call it multi terrain! Jonathan Francis took part in the canine 10km, where Scuba and Merlin made their club debut too! Leanne Rickett finished first in her age category and Tammy Rainbow finished third in hers where they both ran the half marathon.
Janine Baker and Ian Kocko ran their first ever ULTRA becoming Ultra 50km Runners. Janine and Ian have been training together, and ran the course together finishing in 6hr49! What an incredible achievement.
Ash Brown also ran the the 50km ultra and finished in an incredible 11th position, 2nd in his age category in a sub 5hr time at 4hr49.
What an amazing day... So fantastic to be back!!!! BUT elswhere in the country! Club race debut for Ginny Watson for becoming a MARATHON runner over the weekend!!!Not a flat first marathon, but a 1300 climb off road multi terrain marathon!!! The Endurancelife Sussex Trail Marathon. Ginny finished the course in an amazing 5hr30 time... But this isn't the start.... There is an ultra on the horizon... Watch this space!
