This week we started at the “Wolds Vets Click'em Inn 5 Mile” for the last in the series this summer! A great turn out saw 9 runners take on the one loop course! Rain will never stop play for our runners!

Chris Bertins was first back for SADRC (32:07) followed by Mark Lyon, who ran a sterling race coming in just behind Chris with 32:34. Third SADRC male was Curtis Jones crossing the finish with a time of 34:51. Chris Hurst ran a strong race for SADRC in a time of 38:32. Jeff Shelton who has attended many of the summer series races came in with a time of 42:37. Ed Webster ran in a time of 45:50 and ran with Julie Goodwin was first lady home for SADRC. Carol Daulat finished in 51:45 with Helena Shelton close behind in 54:08. Well Done to you all!

It was a quiet weekend with only one race on, the Kimbolton Half Marathon in Cambridgeshire! SADRC love a tour race day! The route is a one-lap course on country roads which is a slightly undulating, but a scenic all road route.

It was a great day out though, apart from when they said “start” and it belted it down with rain for four miles, after that the weather was beautiful! Mark Sands came in first for SADRC and finished second in his age category of 40+ with a time of 1:19:50. Colin Chambers followed with 1:49:37 and won his age category of 70+ and also won the British Masters age category too! A fantastic run from Colin!

The Hearns has a fantastic morning smashing both their PBs in fantastic form! Jimmy Hearn earned an outstanding PB of 12 minutes! Incredible running…must have been the new trainers! Jimmy crossed the line in 1:56:41 and Emmajean in 1:56:12 finishing with a 2 and half minute PB! Both runners ran an excellent race, Well Done.

Rebecca Grice followed with a PB time of 2:11:05 which is a new minute PB! Not only this, but this was her 10th half marathon of 10 this year, a goal she has been working on all year! Today, she completed her New Year’s Resolution. A fantastic achievement for Rebecca.
