Sunday 24th November

6 Skegness and District Running Club members were lured to Towcester, Northamptonshire on Sunday by the prospect of running on the world famous Silverstone Formula 1 race track. Dawn Sykes opted for the 10k and took the checkered flag in a time of 1:01:00. 5 members, lead by Craig Tuplin in a personal best time of 2:06:42 took on the half marathon. Julie Goodwin was next to take the SADRC podium in 2:10:36, closely followed by Lora Hawkins (2:12:01), Natalie Mitchell (2:13:19) and Rob Goddard (2:14:56).

Guy Hatton went one step further on his quest to 100 marathons by notching up not just one but two more 26.2mile runs in one weekend, completing numbers 58 and 59 in Yorkshire at the 'Its Grim Up North' Fewston and Swinsty four by four, where participants could race between one and four days consecutively. The course consisted of 6.55 mile, multi terrain, laps around the reservoirs. Guy took part in days 3 and 4 of the event (Saturday and Sunday) and was chuffed with his efforts. Saturday was more or less on target (4:39:38) and on Sunday Guy was pleased with a sub 5hr finish (4:52:00) after the previous days efforts.

Curtis Jones came home with a new pb at 'Curly's Athletes' Doncaster 10k on Sunday with a time of 42:41. The Doncaster 10km has won the best in Yorkshire 10k at the national running awards every year since it started!
