Bank holiday weekend brought superb performances from our England Masters athletes at Manchester half with Janet Harmston finishing 6th in her age cat with a time of 01:50:51 closely followed by James Willis in 01:51:37 grabbing 3rd in the 75-79 cat.
On Saturday nine members tackled the Banham zoo 5km. A predominantly off road course the route offered the chance to see giraffes, monkeys and much more.
Rewind to the previous weekend and we had two representations in the Peak District with Steven Dowse winning the white peak half marathon with Rebecca Atkinson having a more relaxed race taking in the scenic views. Leanne Rickett was also in the Peak District tackling the Iron half with dramatic elevations but again offering stunning views.
Amy Mitchell and Kirsty Bolton took on the Run Rabbit event which consists of 5x5km, 1x10km and 1 half marathon over the 2 day. Special mention to Amy who came in the top 4 of the weekend, and got the chance to race for the golden carrot!
Back locally we had strong representation both at Skelly 10km a Friday night off road race with finishers getting a well earned bottled beer and the popular curlys event the big green Scunthorpe 10km.
We had 2 runners attend Scunthorpe Big Green 10km, congratulations! Lee Mullen finished first at Deeping 10km.
Finally the first click em inn 5 mile this year saw double figures of SADRC entrants with 3 finishers in the top ten and Jensen Windsor claiming top spot.
