Sunday 26th November

Race Relay Time! We have not had one of these for a while and what a weekend to do a race relay on. Hareward Relay races through the fens in Peterborough to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The race route is along a route an Anglo-Saxon Legend used...once upon a time....only Hareward himself *see viking in the picture!

We had 2 teams take part in the event. Darren, James and Phillip made up team one along with Kate, Amy, Kirsty and Sian....running her first race in the club vest!

Its a 40 mile relay race with checkpoints along the route. Both teams ran excellent races. The route is extremely tough off road so its such a fantastic achievement for both teams.

More results to follow...but what we know so far is the boys finished 28 out of 83 teams which is great especially with an average age of 58! And the Ladies, did absolutely awesome!!

Doncaster 10km for the fab 5 today! Steven Dowse ran a 40 second PB which following the year, not surprised by smashing yet another PB! Steven ran in 34:01. Followed by Simon Wise who also smashed his PB, again following a fantastic few months crossed in 37:42. Rebecca Atkinson gained a course record in a time of 51:03 with Sarah and Shaun Thomas crossing the line together in 1hr01. Fantastic results for the fantastic 5, Well Done!

Elaine Hammonds took the SADRC colours across the pond this weekend and ran the Benidorn 10km. A firm favourite among the club, the Benidorm 10km finishes along the beach in the center of the city. Elaine finished in 1hr13 which was her 3rd fastest 10km time. Congratulations.

Gareth Smith took part in a fell race this weekend in the Peak District. Gareth ran the 12km fell race called the Baslow Bolt with a 400m accent! The race skirts round the Baslow Skirt.

Darren, in preparation for his run on Sunday in the Team Relay ran the Turkey Trot 10km in Bury St Edmunds on Saturday. Who doesn't love these festive running titles! Darren finished in a time of 48 minutes and 59 seconds but the race was marginally longer than a 10km distance....6.8 miles!! It was all that turkey trotting going over the distance!

Emmajean and Jimmy Hearn took part in the annual Boston Santa Fun Run in the centre. After the fantastic light switch on on Thursday, this was a fantastic follow up. The Santa Fun Run is a 5km race suitable for all, and is all about having fun! Emmajean finished in 26:33 minutes with a huge smile on her face...and an epic medal!

Along with the Hearns, the Thompsons took part too. Andrew ran along with Pheonix who ran a fantastic 5km PB! That is a snowcredible 5km result. Congratulations Pheonix.

Fearne and Evie Carpenter also ran in the Santa Fun Run on Sunday morning. Fearne and Evie crossed the line together and finished in 32:29. It was great to see the Christmas Hats in full etire, even the cat got involved and wore a hat....that is what I like, family Christmas spirit!
