Sunday 5th May 2019 Guy Hatton is still on a mission with his marathons and added to his year by running the Belfast Marathon on Sunday. It was number 45 for Guy, and even with the course being 0.5 miles too long, it did not deter his spirits and finished with fantastic time of 4:20:18. Well Done! With the weather considerable cooler than this time last year, it was the annual Half Marathon joint day with Sleaford Half and North Lincolnshire Half Marathons. North Lincolnshire Half was attended by 9 runners from SADRC. First to cross the line for Skegness was Darren Weston with a time of 1:27:44, a fantastic time! Martin Chapman was home next with a brand new PB time of 1:35:57, a PB run by 2 minutes, followed by Mark Hayes 1:43:51 and Chris Hurt 1:46:54. Shawn Thomas snuck in a PB race time crossing the line with 1:55:37. Hilary Speller crossed the line as SADRC first female with a time of 2:09:37, followed by Sarah Thomas. Sarah described the race as “the toughest run she has ever done” but with the fantastic sportsmanship shown by Rob Goaddard, they crossed the line together with a time of 2:10:14. Natasha Haynes 2:19:54 who ran her first official half marathon! Well Done to you all, fantastic running! Rebecca Grice and Julie Goodwin represented SADRC at the Sleaford Half Marathon. A rural half, going through local villages and around the countryside. Both ladies managed PBs on this course. Julie knocked an incredible 9 minutes off her previous time, crossing the line in 2:02:43, a fantastic run considering she ran the Boston Marathon a few weeks previous. Rebecca also managed a PB, knocking just under 4 minutes off her previous record set in 2016 finishing with a time of 2:13:46. Well Done Ladies, great running! Five club members crossed the border into Norfolk, to take part in the ASDA Run For All, Kings Lynn GEAR. A 10k road race around the historic town, park and quayside. Weather was chilly to start, with the sun holding off any showers. First home with PBs for both, were Jimmy Hearn 51:21 and Emmajean Hearn 51:54. First time here for Dave Kenyon in 55:07. Then Dawn Sykes 1:00:20 who finished with a PB time for her second 10km followed by Sanjiv Jain in 1:20:21. Well Done! Robin Harrison is gearing up for his final day of his 525/525 daily running challenge with a warm up 5 km in Milton Keynes before his Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday! Good Luck!
