It was the Spilsby ladies that flew the flag for Skegness and District Running Club on Sunday. Angela Thompson completed the Sutton Beast 10k at Sutton In The Isle, Cambridgeshire. On a hot morning she ran really well to finish in 45:04. The course was multi-terrain including gravel paths, farm tracks and fields. Angela won the prize for 3rd place in the vet40 category, finished 8th lady and 39th overall.
Cheryl Pawson entered the Doncaster Half Marathon, also on Sunday. After injury and recent knee surgery Cheryl said "Well I wasn't sure if I would even get round and after a calf injury at 8.5 miles i nearly didn't. It was a slow limp for the last 4.5 miles but I did cross the finish line. Today was my tester half to dip my toe back in the water". Cheryl crossed the finish line in a very respectable 2:14:40.
Chris Hurst and Hilary Speller attended the The Two Castles 10k Run on Sunday aswell. A 10km run between two of the England's most beautiful castles; Warwick and Kenilworth. They both completed the 10km and said "no PB’s but still worth a day out or weekend away to do this one. Two fantastic settings with an amazing atmosphere throughout." Chris finished with a time of 48:44 and Hilary in a time of 1:01:36. Fantastic running from you both, always great to get out and about trying new races!
