Sunday 10th November
Elaine Broomfield will 'remember' this years Poppy Run 10k at Friskney with a new pb, crossing the line with 1 hour 5 mins and 48 seconds. The race held local to Boston honored a period of silence before the start. The race raises money, "to show our gratitude to those who have, and still do, risk their lives to protect us, our country and our way of life". Congratulations Elaine.
Guy Hatton was out and about again, running Old Mother Shipton marathon, number 57 for him !!!. Running in the beautiful countryside of Knaresborough and Harrogate, on a fast out and back course. All participants received a local beer and a "fat rascal", we look forward to finding out what that is. Well done Guy.
Local to home, nearly 20 members of the club ran together as a "social run" at Fordington, wearing red tops to pay their respects for this thought provoking morning. The sun shone on them as they ran and they even had a blessing from the vicar of Skendleby, before heading of for coffee and cake. Well done everyone on your hill work this morning.
Also well done to the couch to 5k group, in Skegness, now on week 3, they managed 20 minutes running without stopping. Looking at the photos, beaming smiles, they thoroughly enjoyed it too. Proud of you all and how well you are progressing.
Next weekend is cross country at Belton and Peterborough 10 miles. If you interested in joining the club, search us up online or Facebook, theirs always something happening and friends waiting to be made.
