Club runners were getting in the mood for Valentine’s Day early this year with the St Valentine’s 30k in Stamford, organised by the Stamford Striders.
We had two couple enter the race, Steven Dowse & Rebecca Atkinson and Kate & Derrick Carpenter.
Steven Dowse had a fantastic race, his first over half marathon distance, finishing in 18th place overall in 01:56:42.
Also having by a brilliant race was James Willis finishing first in his age category in 2:39:39 beating the current age group course record by around nine minutes too!
Derrick and Kate Carpenter finished in 2:12:22 and 3:04:15 respectively - fabulous running to you both, enjoy your box of chocolates!
Taking on the course together were Rebecca Atkinson and Jane Martin finishing by in 3:01:51, well done ladies, great running!
Meanwhile one club runner was taking on a tasty 10k in Peterborough. Back for its second year, this time at Ferry Meadows Country Park, was the Run for Cake which has the promise of cake when you cross the finish line. What more could you want to spur you on! Leanne Rickett had a great race finishing in 59:37.
