Report by Steven Dowse and Becki Atkinson.

This weekend saw Equinox 24, an event in the beautiful Belvoir Castle grounds consisting of a night and day 10km and a 24 hour challenge with runners seeing how many laps they can complete of the testing mixed terrain course. SADRC’s Samantha Fox tackled the solo 24 hour challenge and logged a very impressive 6 gruelling 10km laps with 5 on the Saturday and managing to rally for an additional lap on Sunday morning to avoid finishing on an odd number. Gareth smith also logged 6 laps in the solo event and Team Cool Runnings (Great name) consisting of Mark Collingwood, Sharon Collingwood, Rachael Hickson & Alison Marwood completed 18 laps in the small team mixed category. In the day 10km it was a family affair with the Hearns (Emmajean, Sophie & Jimmy) finishing in times of 01:04:02, 01:10:41 and 01:16:31.

Sunday saw SADRC strongly represented at the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10km in Cleethorpes. Our runners tackled the coastal head winds and off road sections to log some impressive performances in what the majority described as a tough race. In the half Lee Mullen was first back for the club, 10th overall with a pb of 01:16:56. Lee was followed by Derrick Carpenter (01:35:27), Dave Kenyon (01:52:34), Kate Carpenter (02:08:42), Kate Howard (PB of 02:14:17), Lora Robinson (02:18:57), Sally Sharp (PB of 02:19:08) and Nathan Fisher (02:29:01), well done everyone. A Special mention has to go to James Willis (01:47:31) and Janet Harmston (02:01:18) who were 1st and 3rd in their respective age categories and both achieved qualification for an England vest, amazing achievement by both.

In the 10km Luke Haynes continued his strong year finishing 6th overall with his 3rd quickest 10km time of 34:57 being 1st in the under 20 age category. Mikey Booth finished in a PB time of 55.07 and was super proud to be pipped to the line by his daughter in her first 10km. Our other finishers was Julia Rayson (01:08:49).

Elsewhere Kirsty Boulton and her canine companion raced round the Caythorpe Dash 10k Canicross in a time of 01:07:44 achieving 10th place overall and 2nd in age group.
