2021 Christmas Awards (24th April 2022)

Sunday 24th April

Anyone else not recovered from Monday! Can you believe the Boston Marathon was on Monday! Where does the week go...the weekends come around so quick!

Paul Wilson travel to Scotland on Sunday to complete in The Highland Fling!! Paul ran this race 2 years ago (a hiatus for the race) but certainty wasn't put off by its 53 miles along the West Highland Way; through Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Paul instead took on the challenge again and completed the incredible ultra in 11 hours 20 minutes. Coming 90th out of 400 and 12th in his age category. Weather was magnificent, such an honour to have been part of this fantastic event. Incredible running, congratulations Paul.

It wasnt the only trial running this weekend. The Longhorn 10km takes part in the private areas of Sherwood Forest & the beautiful grounds of Thoresby Park. Andy Mackinder took his loyal companion, Albus, his dog on his travels. A great race to share together. It may have just been a 10km for Andy, but this was Albus's first 10km, so a great achievement, even with the stops for the toilet and the odd sniff here and there!

Janine Baker and Ian Kocko also ran the Longhorn 10km, took the 10km option instead of the ultra this year! A lovely run completing it in a time of exactly 1hr for Janine and 58 minutes for Ian. A beautiful race in the woods and one we would highly recommend for future races.

SADRC Awards Night (2021)

What a FANTASTIC night at the SADRC Christmas Award Night!.

It was so good to finally be able to celebrate and come together as a club! It's been far too long since we all partied together! As a club we were also happy to be able to give back to our members! Thank you to Hatters HOTEL for putting on a fabulous event and feast for us to all enjoy throughout the evening! Thank you to all the organisers to the evening as well as well as Locks and Leather for engraving our trophies for the evening!

There will be sore heads this morning, memories made and jokes told but boy oh boy did we have fun!
