Sunday 26th June

Last Wednesday saw the return of the Lincolnshire Wolds Tough Ten - this year with a new time trial format. Despite the challenging conditions, three runners from the club took part and had great runs. First back for the club was Mark Collingwood in 1.13.01, followed by Amy Mitchell and Kirsty Boulton in 1.35.23.

Keeping it local on Saturday was the club’s monthly Skegness boating lake 5k run. The self-timed 5k starts at 9am and is held on the first a Saturday of every month. This month’s run was another huge success with a fantastic turnout. Anyone is welcome to join in, we meet at 8.45am for the run briefing.

Further afield on Saturday, Richard Gibbs headed to Worcester for the Joust 24-hour race. Despite the challenging 5.5 mile loop course, Richard completed an incredible 112 miles over the 24 hours taking first place in the process. Fantastic running Richard.

Saturday also saw three club members take on the Rutland 10k. First back for the club, bagging a PB and 5th place overall was Lee Mullen in 36.58, closely followed by Steven Dowse coming 8th overall in 37.32. Rebecca Atkinson also had a great run, finishing in 54.39.

A quick recovery from Saturday’s 10k saw Rebecca Atkinson and Steven Dowse putting their club vests on again for the Normanby Hall 10k on Sunday. Steven smashed it for a second time in one weekend with a time of 37:04 and Rebecca in 54.42. Brilliant effort by you both!
