Not the running news post we are all used to….but a post is a post!

Lets see what we have all been up to this week!

Robin Harrison has created a Horncatsle Predictor Run 5km that everyone is welcome to join in with! Anyone can have a go on Wednesday, at any time! Post your predicted time and run the route….see what time you get…but remember, do not glance at those watches! (check the route out on the magic of facebook)

Chris Hurst reminded us all that the clocks go forward which can only mean one thing, and one thing only….NO HEAD TORCHES AGAIN!!!!! This is fantastic news. No need to look like a plumber, or a cave man anymore….well until the Autumn!

Jenny Mullenger is forcing her dog to wake up and go for an early morning run at 5:30am…I don’t think you will be the only one!

Some people are finding social isolation more motivating than ever! Sarah Coupland and Becca Grice to name a few. They seem to be getting out and about regularly and enjoying the sunshine!

The big issue at the moment is the Joe Wicks workout. It’s causing many aches and pains in the morning especially for Alison Cook, Perry Whitham and Charlotte Armsby! It isn’t just for the kids…9am Monday to Friday….it’s a whole indoor workout session!!!

A great result was the Ashby20 hoodies arrived for people meaning to do the run that got cancelled. Win win situation. Ian Kocko was extremely happy with his hoodie….many of us regretting we didn’t enter :D

A fantastic positive post is Karen Barton welcomed a new grandchild into the world on Wednesday. A beautiful baby daughter! Massive congratulations grandma (granny, gran, ma…?!?!)

We have some fantastic parents home-schooling their children! Big Praise to Joyce Baumber, Corinne Tomlin and Charlotte Turnball to name a few. You are doing fantastic…KEEP GOING!!! Never shall we ever moan about teachers again :D

Well Done to Elaine Broofield who ran her longest run…8 miles :D Huge achievement and loved it….yes you heard that right….loved it…can’t take that back now! I think it was the new taps in the downstairs loo that encouraged the big run!

Wayne Waite also managed a new PB for 5km distance. Wayne is on a running streak at the moment and loving every minute. A new PB time of 27 minutes. WELL DONE!

BIG SHOUT OUT to our NHS workers in the club….Emmajean Hearn, Mark Sands, and Julie Goodwin to name a few. You are doing the most amazing job and we cannot thank you enough!

Its that time of the year again, when England Athletic come knocking! Memberships are due! No pressure to join, especially with the economy like it is. But if you would like to, it is £25 for the privilege and you become an official EA Athlete….fancy right! Money to Helena or Andy Shelton. No pressure though!

It is tough out there at the moment, and all we can do is pray for a rainbow.

BUT stay positive, keep smiling and keep sharing your running stories! We love to hear about them!

REMEMBER: Only ONE form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household. Even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
